EZINQOLENI ESSENTIAL OILS
WHAT WE DO
Ezinqoleni Essential Oils (EEO) was established in 2010 with the vision of leading an all-encompassing essential oils industry in South Africa. We introduced a 'farm to finish' approach to our industry whereby we monitor and manage all aspects of propagation, cultivation and production to ensure high quality oils using sound and sustainable agricultural practices.
Our nurseries supply propagated seedlings which we plant on our own farms and supply to our out-growers. Once mature, the plant material is harvested and returned to us for the extraction of essential oils by steam distillation.
These oils are sold in bulk on the international market and to our sister company Oribi Organics which is a value add company.
Ideal growing conditions
Our hothouses & nursery provide a perfect growing environment, delivering all the nutritional requirements to produce strong and robust essential oil seedlings.
We propagate from proven plant varieties to ensure a consistent oil yield and quality, keeping us at the forefront of our industry.
Our field plantings are standardised across our own farms as well as our affiliate growers to ensure best farming practices throughout our industry. We employ both organic and conventional farming methods depending on the grower's individual requirements.
DISTILLATION & OIL SALES
Steam Extraction & Bulk Oil Sales
Our growers harvest mature plants and deliver their biomass to our distillation plant. The essential oils are extracted by steam distillation, weighed and analysed before export. For transparency, growers are encouraged to be present during the distillation process.
Our oils are sold in bulk on the international market and nationally through our sister company, Oribi Organics.
Opportunities & Mentorship
Our unique business approach over the past ten years has led to over 300 farming families move from subsistence farming to a more sustainable industry. A reliable and predictable income provides our growers with financial security.
