Tea tree essential oil is a concentrated botanical essence extracted by steam distillation from the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia plant.   It has a fresh camphoraceous odor and ranges from pale yellow colour to almost colourless and clear.  It is well-known for its powerful antiseptic, anti fungal, antiviral and antibacterial properties and is often used to treat burns and wounds.
